Before wine, Steffini was in pharmaceutical sales. After being laid off in 2010, a trip to Spain introduced her to wines she'd never experienced in the U.S. — and she couldn't stop exploring. Her husband told her: "If you're going to drink wine like this, you need to figure out a way to make money doing it."

Purple Corkscrew was born. First in Emory Village, then finding its true home in Avondale Estates — a close-knit, walkable community that matched the shop's warmth perfectly. Thirteen years later, the staff is family, the regulars are friends, and every bottle on the shelf has been personally vetted.
